Mary Brekke started drawing as soon as she could hold a pencil. She has pursued many creative endeavors throughout her life. For 20 years she sold her hand-made jewelry at art fairs under the name Yowza! Bead Designs - most of pieces included her own silver work, handmade glass beads, and her own flair for combining textures and colors.

 Many years ago she took some community pottery classes, but it was only a few years ago she picked up working in clay again; and boom! The ideas took on a life of their own. Mary started with fairy garden items, then it morphed into unique terrarium accessories, and soon it became full-fledged mugs, bowls, and other ware. She decided to take a sabbatical from jewelry making and try her hand at selling her pottery and ceramic art. Yowza! Bead Designs became Yowza! Artistry; the name no longer specific towards any medium (jewelry, clay, or otherwise).

Mary lives with her husband, son, and two cats in Plymouth, Minnesota where she has an amazing studio space dedicated to her many artwork pursuits.
